The Big Lunch

The “Big Jubilee Lunch” is one of the official celebrations of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Celebrations over the Jubilee Weekend 2 - 5 June 2012.

The initiative was started by the Eden Project in 2009 believing that the world can be a better place through people working together. Holding an event such as a lunch (big or small), a street party, a picnic, a barbeque – anything where people can get together, with a common theme of having fun, sharing interests collectively celebrating and building friendships with neighbours, community and faith groups and others, is an excellent way of achieving this.

It could be a charity event or just a reason to celebrate 60 years of our Queen's reign and to share friendship and fun.

The day for the “Big Jubilee Lunch” is Sunday 3 June 2012 and groups from all over Lancashire are taking part. Rotary International, amongst many others, is a key supporter.
